Boo-licious Buffet ...Our Saturday Seminar!

As many of you know, I have been working on Christmas for quite awhile.
But...
I have been  looking forward to teaching this class on
 Buffets and Tablescapes
for sometime .
For the most part, I was looking forward to having some fun with our wonderful and supportive customers...
But also, Because I just needed a break!

We had decided early on this Fall that the "Theme" would be based on the movie
"The Wizard of Oz"
This year marks it 70th Anniversary...
And The Horton's Daughters,
Loved the Play
"Wicked"

So...
I hope you will follow me down the yellow brick road for an afternoon of
Food, Fun and Frivolity!

Here are some of our Precious Ladies waiting for me to open the french doors.(open, open, open,)

I always love seeing everyone who comes for our Free Saturday Seminars And by the looks of things they enjoy visiting as well!

I was a little slow in setting up this morning. Most of the time you can come on in and find a seat.

But ...We had been cooking(off site) so...alot of it had to be reheated
 in the Fudge Kitchen.
Only about twice a year do we have food related classes here at the store.
(It's a big deal!)

These are our Cutlery and Goodie Bags
At the end of the buffet class we had a "take and make" to teach everyone the how to's

Our Swampwater Punch was a "Monster-ous" Success

Some of the banners over the buffet table.
We showed how to set up a buffet two different ways.
One : The Wizards- was a dessert buffet
The menu included such items as: Tin Man Tarts, Scarecrow Cupcakes and Cowardly Lion Cookies.

Two:  Elphaba's Tea Party (The Wicked Witch)

Where Witches Brew Mexican Stew was the star of our show.
To make things a little more like a tea party ...we served the soup in wonderful teacups and saucers!

Need an extra hand?

Many of the recipes were found within the cookbooks we carry at the store...
The Others I will be posting as soon as I can!
(You might need to email me...in case I forget)

This is  another photo taken at the wizards table...
The shoes really are glittered ruby slippers...

More food in Dorothy like picnic baskets...and of course Ruby Reds!

What would a Witches buffet be without her broom!
After everything was said and done,
I returned to home to find a delightfully "Frightful" gift from a dear friend and attendee!

This is what I call a "sound bite"
What a wonderful day! Thank you to everyone who attended!
but
If you didn't get to attend...remember that the Christmas Open House is November 7 and 8!
You won't want to miss this!
We have many incredible suprises in store for you this year!

Bonjour,

Thanks for leaving the sweet comments on my blog. I love the photos on yours - they are fab! I am also mad about Christmas and plan to commence decorating the house and the shop early Novemeber.

Re your question on accommodation both Maison de Poitiers and Maison No. 20 are ours although we are trying to sell Maison de Poitiers at present. The focus is on Maison No. 20 as apartment type accommodation is in demand so we are hoping to have the third and final apartment ready for spring 2010. I am in the process of filling the shelves in my petit shop andf have some really nice things on the way. Will be blogging about them next week.

A bientot,

Leeann x

Stunning! Your talent is beyond. Can't wait to see what you whip up for Christmas. It makes me want to go to Tipton! Does Horton's sell The Find? If so, I would love to have a photo of it among your gorgeous displays. And if not, well, I can certainly make that connection.

Thank you for visiting!

I love that green glittered 'extra' hand, and the swampwater punch is too much! Enjoyed the whole post, even if I can't remember how I got here! Where are you in relation to Charleston, Ill, where I attended high school?
